Travel Inspired...

WanderLynn

Travel is not just about seeing new places, it is an entire experience.  One of the best ways to meet people and truly learn about part of a culture is to volunteer and work within a community.  On this page, I will profile some of the organizations and people who are embracing the concept of being a "global citizen" by giving back within challenged populations.  I hope these projects inspire you to make volunteering part of your travel experience.

Global Dental Relief - I have traveled to Nepal, Vietnam, India and Cambodia with this group to work as a volunteer in their dental clinics for children. (see photo above)

Alma Sana - I recently met Lauren Braun, the  founder of this organization and a woman with a mission to make vaccination more feasible for underserved populations.

Women's Global Tool Kit -  Betsy Teutsch recently published a book called "100 Under $100" profiling tools that empower global women and their communities.  It's a great way to see the innovation and impact of simple solutions and will give you great insight on how you can help some legitimate companies achieve their goals (and your own!).  http://100under100.org
